La Palma

La Palma offers a wide range of activities. You will enjoy the towns and landscapes of the island, its beaches,  its forests and its volcanos, a diverse and full of contrasts nature, a singular and starred sky, a large and full of personality craftwork, and of course,  a rich gastronomy full of typical dishes, desserts, local wines and liquors.

Beaches

In La Palma we can find beaches with the blue flag, but where really it catches the attention of its adventurous visitors is with the wealth of its little and hidden coves and with its wild beaches in where, with precaution, we can enjoy the see and spectacular landscapes.

Whenever you look for comfort and proximity, remenber that one of those blue flags has been assigned to the beach of Los Cancajos, where our complex of aparments is located. On the other hand, if you wish to cross the island, with pleasure we will indicate to you those beaches that better adjust to your necessities and the means of transport which you can accede.

 

Trekking

The island of La Palma is a paradise for that people who practice trekking. All its geography is marked by mountains, volcanos, prehistoric and dreamy forests and a great diversity of plants and ecosystems that make the island deserves the title of Reserva Mundial de la Biosfera (World-wide Reserve of the Biosphere), besides we can find one of the most impressive National Parks of the country, The National Park La Caldera de Taburiente, where the permanent and unique river of the Canary Islands has transformed the landscape creating a structure of La Caldera of 10 km wide with 2000 meters of unevenness.

A full systen of footpaths is at your disposition; marked and drawn up according to international rules, making differences between long, middle and short routes. Both experts and beginners can enjoy and relish the open spaces. Cultural tourism

The island was born with the conquest of America, becames rich with the trade and the cultural diversity and is under the reign of Felipe II the third important port of Europa, behind of Seville and Amberes ports. There is in Santa Cruz de la Palma an architectural jewel that has been known how to conserve. Populated with Churches, civil monuments, streets where the time has stopped, pictures and sculptures flamencas, Santa Cruz de la Palma can be more than a forced appointment for the cultural tourism, look for its legends and you will experience a trip to the time where the new world changed the old Europe, filling of commerce, mixture, development and also piracy in the seas just discovers.

Watching the stars

This is a scientifict appointment for all the people interested in the observation of the stars. El Roque de los Muchachos (2426 m) counts with one of the privileged location of the planet for the astronomical observation. Once there you have to visit the telescopes instaled there, and do not forget to carry a camera with you so you will take pictures and images of the impressive views of La Caldera de Taburiente and the rest of the island. You can take pictures from the higher point and maybe the most impressive one.

 Rich in contrasts, La Palma is worth crossing from North to South, and from West to East (where the apartaments are located).  Besides of the Park and its summits, do not forget to visit the Heart of the Reserve of the Biosfera in El Canal and Los Tiles, and compare it with a visit to the Volcanos in the South, going through the last spanish volcano, El Vocan de Teneguia in Fuencaliente. We recommended rent a car or contracting one of the specialized routes if you want confort and operativity, because many of the best places are not accessible from the public transport.

Gastronomy and craftwork

Do not forget that many surprises are wating for you in the gastronomy of La Palma. The fresh flavours and the best raw materials fill the canary kitchen. Fishes, meats, cheeses, fresh vegetables, fruits and recognized wines and liquors should be part of your programme.
